…and then gets the worm :-)

Well, here it is 6:35pm, as we sit contemplating dinner I figured I’d take this opportunity to provide an update on the afternoon happenings. Quite the chain of events, but ultimately amazing and we’ve got some of the pics to prove it :-)
First off, Jeff decided to brave it out at around noon when the winds were still howling, 35+ mph easily. Well, his ride wasn’t without it’s share of mishaps, most notable of all being the first one. Below you can see the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pics of his Slingshot SX-132…
“Yep, he done busted his board all up!”
Jeff’s other mishaps included problems with his lines which forced him to relaunch himself twice. Doing this alone in the wind conditions that we were experiencing is just no fun, but he was down the beach quite a ways so there was no one around to assist. Later, it was another line problem resulting in a very frustrated young man…fortunately, he rode it out and kicked butt. Lots of big air. Scott had also made it out briefly with Ken, one of his students, but got back in at around 2:30pm.
We all hung out watching Jeff for a while, then after he came in we waited for the winds to simmer and by 4:00pm it became perfect 11m kite weather…otherwise said, “it was butter”. It’s like the wind conditions attained total synchronicity and we were given immaculate conditions. When you went out towards the island in the distance, the water actually warmed up. Then it was play time as it was perfect for throwing down tricks. Below is a sequence from each Scott and I. “Good times”.
“P-Air flying the friendly skies!”
“Scotty throwing down the handle pass on cue!”
While we only got approximately 40-45 mins in that last session, it was of epic proportions with perfect water and air temperatures. This is what it’s all about…
