Does Motorola have eyes for RIM?

Well, the news that Motorola acquired Good Technology should be fairly big news in the area of corporate e-mail devices, since Good provided the closest serious competitor to RIM’s Blackberry service. While Good has been more focused on the software application side of things, leaving the device issues to others, they have built a very nice reputation for a quality service which has enabled non-Blackberry devices to run nice e-mail focused applications, that are not generally as robust on the Palm and Microsoft mobile operating systems. Anyway, things should get interesting with Motorola entering this fray given how strongly they already play in the device space, this gives them even more “umph” in the corporate marketplace.
